Pastoral Musician...

Bigger parish demands? Smaller music budget?
Need some love?
Following the success of our inaugural meeting in June, 2010, thirty fellow ministers like you convened on Jnauary 12 at St. Mary’s Cathedral to recharge our ministerial batteries and explore the many benefits of NPM--the National Pastoral Musicians, an organization specifically created to make our ministry all the more effective--and easier as well!
January’s meeting had a simple agenda:
1-Welcome and refreshments
2-”What’s in it for Me” question and answer session about the benefits of NPM with acclaimed Bay Area composer and NPM board member Fr. Ricky Manalo.
3-”Here’s How Much Fun 3,500 Pastoral Musicians Can Have in One Room” report from local music director Matt Lanier on this past summer’s national convention in Detroit
4-”How Will the New Missal Affect Musicians” overview by Bay Area liturgist/pastoral musician Rob Grant.
Resource packets featuring preview copies of 25 new and revised Mass Settings were distributed at the meeting, additional copies of which can be obtained from Rob Grant.
Come join your fellow music minsisters for future opportunities for professional development, conversation, and just plain fun!
